How the numbers work
The record and the rulings ledger
What the record states, and the ledger of your standing answers.
Every review carries a short record of where its figures came from and what was done to them. It sits under the checks, and it travels with the month's workbook and documents.
What the record states
Source | The file, when it was uploaded, the last month it covers, and how many rows the month reconciled to. |
Basis | Cash collected, normalized recurring revenue, or recurring revenue as stated. |
Checks | How the checks came out, naming any that carried a note or did not pass. |
Withheld | Each figure held back, with the reason and what would let it print. |
Rulings | How many of your rulings were applied, and how many questions were asked this month. |
Version | The calculation and the rules in force, as two short codes. |
Standing | Whether this is the signed version, and whether a newer calculation exists. |
A row with nothing to say is left out. An example, from the month in the screenshots on these pages:

A signed month whose figures have moved never reads as unchanged.
The rulings ledger
When you answer a decision and approve the answer as standing, it becomes a ruling. Morevy applies rulings to every later month.
Each ruling keeps what was asked, what you answered, the month it was answered for, when it took effect, who decided it, the file it was decided against, and what would reopen it. If you change a ruling, the earlier answer stays in its history and the new one takes effect from its own date. Nothing earlier is recalculated by the change.
To see or export your rulings, open What Morevy knows, then Standing treatments, and select Export CSV or Export JSON.
Briefs and the checks
A brief is produced only when the month has its checks and all its figures are on one basis. If a check did not pass, or a decision is still open, the brief is marked as a draft and says what would make it final.
