How the numbers work
Connecting QuickBooks
Read-only access to your QuickBooks invoices and customers, approved on Intuit's screen.
Connect QuickBooks Online, and Morevy reads your invoices and customers itself. It never writes to your books.
Connect
Select Connect an app on a New close and choose QuickBooks.
Approve access on Intuit's screen (Intuit makes QuickBooks). You return to this step. Each connection covers one company.
The row shows Syncing, then Synced and waiting on your review. Select Run it if it looks right.
Or select Connect with QuickBooks on the Integrations page.
In a client's workspace, apps cannot connect, so upload the client's export.
What Morevy reads
QuickBooks has no subscriptions. Customers invoiced in back-to-back months count as recurring, and those invoiced once as one-off. For the rest, Morevy asks one question per pattern.
Invoices and sales receipts | Revenue, one row per line, dated by the invoice date, without sales tax. A voided invoice totals zero and is skipped. |
Credit memos and refund receipts | Refunds, each on its own date, never taken off the invoice. A refund receipt that pays out a credit memo is not counted again. |
Payments | Only to link records, since they pay invoices already counted. Never revenue. |
Customers | Including inactive ones. A sub-customer or project counts under its top parent, keeping the project name. |
Products and services | Each line's item, which becomes a breakdown. |
Chart of accounts | Which lines post to income. Lines posting to expense or liability accounts, such as bad-debt write-offs or customer deposits, are not revenue. |
Company details | Company name and home currency. |
If the sync stops
An unreadable record stops the sync, which names it. Fix it in QuickBooks and sync again.
Invoices in several currencies also stop the sync, which names them. Contact Morevy to sync one currency.
A company with no sales shows No invoices or sales found in this QuickBooks company.
When Morevy syncs
Morevy syncs only on request, so sync before you review a finished month. Select Sync now on the Integrations page, which also shows Last synced.
Only the first sync waits for your review, and later ones only if the data's columns change.
Reconnecting and disconnecting
If the row says Reconnect QuickBooks, select Reconnect and approve again.
On the Integrations page, select Disconnect, then Yes, disconnect. Morevy stops pulling data and asks Intuit to end its access. You cannot disconnect during a sync.
QuickBooks works beside Stripe or files. Next: Adding more than one file.
