Exporting from Stripe
Which Stripe export to use, what to include in it, and the settings that lose history.
The fastest route is to connect Stripe directly: a restricted, read-only key you create in a minute, and Morevy pulls the payment history itself. See Connecting Stripe. Prefer not to share a key? This page shows exactly what to export instead: Stripe's payments export, one row per payment, with the customer, the date, and the amount.
Note. Here for a general Stripe export walkthrough rather than Morevy setup? Getting your data out of Stripe covers every route - CSV, JSON, the API, warehouses, and the accounting reports. This page covers the one file Morevy reads.
The export to use
Stripe offers several exports. The one you want is Payments.
Payments export
One row per charge. This is the file Morevy reads.
Invoices export
One row per invoice, including unpaid ones. Useful alongside, not instead.
Balance and payout reports
Money moving to your bank. Not payment history.
Step 1: Open the Payments page
In the Stripe Dashboard, go to Payments.
Check the mode toggle first: you want Live mode. A test-mode export looks plausible and contains nothing real.
Step 2: Export with the full date range
Click Export and set the date range to All time, or from the month the business started.
The default range is the trap here. An export of the last 30 or 90 days closes one month and tells Morevy nothing about what normal looks like. History costs nothing; see how far back to go.
Step 3: Include all columns
Choose All columns if Stripe offers the choice. The default set usually works, but the extra columns cost nothing and give Morevy more to classify with.
A long history takes a moment to prepare, and Stripe may send a download link by email instead of downloading directly.

Amount, with Currency
Worth having in the file as well:
Status
Useful as a lens: you can filter or break the close down by it. Export succeeded payments if you can; Morevy does not drop failed rows for you.
Amount Refunded
Refunds count when they appear as negative amounts in the amount column. Export refunds that way rather than as a separate positive column.
Description
Often carries the subscription or product name, which becomes a breakdown lens.
Note. Column names in your export may differ slightly from these. Morevy matches headers against common wordings and checks the values beneath them, shows you what it read, and lets you reassign any column it read wrongly.
Two things worth knowing
Payments taken without a customer record have a blank customer column. Checkout and Payment Links can take a payment without creating a customer. If a material share of your export has no customer identifier, Morevy reports the share on the read of the file so you can decide what to do with those rows.
One currency per file. If you charge in more than one currency, filter the Payments page to one currency before exporting; the export respects the filters in force. Morevy does not sum mixed currencies at an assumed rate.
After the upload
Drop the file into the message box. Morevy reads the columns, tells you the date range it found, and asks the three questions. Your answers are saved against the file, and the next month's export will not be asked again.
