Getting started

Export your payments

What to pull from your billing system, and what has to be in it.

Morevy needs one thing to start: a billing or payment history.

Most billing systems call this a payments report, a transaction export, or billing history. You want the version with one row per payment, not a monthly summary.

What the file must contain

Three columns do the work. Morevy recognises them from common header wordings and the values beneath them, and any column can be reassigned by hand if the reading is wrong.

Who paid

A name, an email, or a customer ID. Anything that identifies a customer consistently.

When

The date the payment was taken.

How much

The amount.

Everything else is a bonus. If your export also has a plan name, a segment, an account owner, or a payment status, Morevy can break the close down by any of them later.

How far back to go

Export as much history as your system will give you.

A single month tells you what happened. Two years tells you whether it is normal. Morevy uses the earlier months to work out what a typical customer looks like and to compare this month against the last three.

Note. A long export costs you nothing. Morevy only closes the month you ask for, and it tells you the full range of dates it found in your file. The upload limit is 25MB, as .csv or .xlsx; a file over the limit usually means trimming columns, not months.

One currency per file

If your export contains more than one currency, Morevy flags it on the read of the file rather than converting at an assumed rate, because a total built from two currencies is a number that does not mean anything. The flag is yours to act on; a file you do not reject is summed as it stands.

Either export one currency per file, or agree an explicit conversion policy and rate first.

Uploading it

Drop the file into the message box, or use the attach button. Morevy reads the columns and tells you what it found before anything is computed:

I've read payments_export.csv, 7,497 rows, covering Nov 2021 through Mar 2026 (53 months).

The most recent month I can close is Mar 2026.

If that range looks wrong, it usually means the export was filtered. Pull it again without a date filter.

Guides for specific systems

  • Exporting from Stripe - Which export to use, and the settings that lose history.

More systems are coming. If yours is not here, the requirements above are all you need: any export with who paid, when, and how much will close.

What happens next

Morevy asks you three questions about the file. They take about a minute, they are saved, and you will not be asked again unless something changes.
